Founder of the Eastern Star
For those who don't know who Dr. Rob Morris is and haven't been to his home in La Grange, Kentucky. Let me tell you a little about him and his home.

Photo above is of Dr. Rob Morris.
Dr. Rob Morris birth name was Robert Williams Peckham and was born August 31, 1818 near Boston, Massachusetts. He took the name of his Foster father John Morris. On March 05, 1849 he became Master Mason in Oxford, Mississippi. He started writing his first rituals for the Order of the Eastern Star in 1849 and 1850. In 1867 he transferred authority to Mr. Robert MaCoy. Which published a ritual using Dr. Rob Morris called "The Rosary of the Eastern Star" as a guide. The first Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern star was organized in Michigan in 1867. November 16, 1876 all the Grand Chapters was united under the General Grand Chapter in Indianapolis, Indiana. He died July 31, 1888 in La Grange, Oldham County, Kentucky at the age of 69. The photo above was a sign that was in the yard of Dr. Rob Morris. It gives a little more information about him.

The above photo is of Dr. Rob Morris home at 110 Washington St., La Grange, Kentucky. This home is really amazing to see. So if you ever get a chance to go see it, do.

Above photo is a copy of the original signet hand painted by the daughter, Charlotte, for use in Eastern Star Chapter initiation. Before her death, Miss Ella advised Dorothy Kress that there are only two left in existence, the one shown here and one that was carried into western states by a member of the family.
